Balchik (Balchik), Bulgaria - Hotel Achilles
This summer I was the whole novel, the Bulgarian sea. As a "Cheaper" and is all-inclusive. More specifically, one week in Balchik (Balchik), Hotel Achilles. Here are some findings may help someone:
Pro:
- beautiful scenery, great at the foot of a limestone hill, to see the botanical garden and cactus queen's castle;
- quiet, although every restaurant has music, often live, the sound level is low, manele excluded;
- lack pitzipoance , Rainbow and foodie related, have lagged behind in Mamaia;
- small restaurants, numerous, relatively inexpensive.
Cons:
- all-inclusive sucks for the following reasons:
- program is one of the pioneers, eg breakfast between 7.30-10; if you woke up later find locked, if you want to stay night at the pool after 22 hours and is closed;
- hard food acceptable to note 6 on a scale of 1 to 10;
- drinks and harder acceptable to juice dispenser (Tek's old in '94) he does not touch anyone and tell them something which beer, spirits, I tried.
- no beach, sit in the sun on rocks or shells
Be careful if you go with children. I went with my son one year, which it still a walk in the stroller. Although people from agency assured us that the sea is "very close" and had to descend / climb stairs about 40 meters difference in level to reach the sea / hotel, and this 3 times a day. The cart in one hand and bag of beach on the other, was not very pleasant experience.
We recommend that you inform yourself well before going in Balchik. Ask the opinion of someone who was. And avoid all-inclusive hotel Achilles at least, eat a little more expensive but much better restaurants.

I just got back from Balchik, where we stayed at the hotel Achille and can say they have changed some things you listed the matter for:
- Breakfast program is also at 7.30-10, but it's ok for a 3 * hotel for non-stop food and beverage choose a 4 * hotel and more;
- Food is even 8-9, it is drink indeed served in something like teak, but is quite good and the beer is very good.
I can say about the rooms are ok, maybe a little smell of the airflow.
Regarding the beach, the hotel is near the main beach of Balchik, there is a large supermarket near Lydia, who EStG very similar to those in romania, a little more clear.
Can someone help what I wrote.
Although ingesuie everyone to go to sea, how much UV radiation in the atmosphere have increased by two times I prefer the mountain, cool, no noise, no not at all on the beach ... just you and the mountain, perhaps the Stana de Vale is closer to me, or Apususeni Mountains, and low cost, and vacation.
